I've seen some comments about people fav'ing everything in the world and not taking the time to appreciate the artists. There are times when I have the time in my schedule to sit and comment about what I think about a piece. Other times, I take the time to add a piece to my "fav collection" in order to appreciate it on a regular basis. My favs don't just sit here. I actually use them as backgrounds, rotating, on my laptop both at home and at work.
Note this: if I have fav'd something of yours, it's because (first of all) I actually like it and (second of all) it is worth my time to show it off to others who might be walking by my sphere of influence. I'm an odd duck that way. But quite often, I'm introducing people to your work through my pleasant pasttime.
(The only exception to this is authors. I fav/watch authors because I have an interest. If I didn't read your work, you wouldn't be on my list.)

And what you say about favs is pretty true. All the well established artists on da get bombarded with favs and comments it gets a bit stupid.
